Jelena M. Ignjatović was born in Niš, where she completed primary and secondary school. She enrolled in studies at the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Philosophy, in 1992, and in 1997 she was hired as an assistant in the same department. After defending her doctoral dissertation, in 2007 she was elected to the position of assistant professor at the Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Science and Mathematics in Niš. As a full professor at this department, she is engaged in courses in the field of theoretical computer science, data structures, data security and modern technologies in teaching and learning.
