Dr. Predrag Krtolica was born on May 31, 1966 in Peć, Serbia. He finished primary and secondary school in Niš with great success, as a holder of the "Vuk Karadžić" diploma. He participated in national competitions in mathematics and physics. The Faculty of Electronics in Niš, Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics, enrolled in the 1985/86 school year. He defended his graduation thesis entitled Evaluation of the Data Search System on September 21, 1990, with a grade of 10 (ten). During his studies, he passed the exams provided by the curriculum with an average grade of 8.42 (eight and 42/100). In the same year, he enrolled in postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Electronics in Niš, majoring in Computer Engineering and Informatics.
After graduating, he worked for a short time at the Faculty of Electronics as a programmer at the AOP, and then at EI "Computers". On October 1, 1991, he was elected an assistant trainee for a group of subjects in programming at the Faculty of Mathematics of the Faculty of Philosophy in Niš. In the same year, he enrolled in postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Philosophy in Niš, at the Faculty of Mathematics, Department of Computer Science and Informatics. He passed all the exams provided by these studies with an average grade of 10 (ten). On October 11, 1996, he defended his master's thesis entitled Software Package for Qualitative Analysis of Differential and Differential Equations.
He was elected an assistant at the Faculty of Mathematics of the Faculty of Philosophy in Niš on June 1, 1997, for the subjects Computer Systems and Operating Systems. He was elected to the same title and for the same subjects at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics on November 26, 2001. So far, he has held exercises in Computer Systems, Operating Systems, Programming (Physics group), Programming in Chemistry and Parallel Processing.
He defended his doctoral dissertation entitled Application of inverse Polish notation and interpolation methods in symbolic computations at the Faculty of Sciences and Mathematics in Niš on June 18, 2004. On December 28, 2004, he was elected assistant professor at the Faculty of Sciences and Mathematics, University of Niš. field of informatics. He has given or is giving lectures in Computer Systems, Operating Systems, Parallel Processing, Integrated Software Packages, Introduction to Computing and Digital Logic Circuits, Computer Architecture and Organization, Introduction to Operating Systems, Computer Networks, Advanced Computer Architecture Course, Programming ( OAS Physics) and Introduction to Object-Oriented Programming (OAS Physics).
He participated as an associate at the Mathematical Institute of SANU on scientific projects 04M02A "Mathematical logic, combinatorics and information processing" and 144011 "Algebraic structures and methods for information processing", and is now an associate on project 174013 "Development of methods for calculating and processing information : theory and applications ''. Also, as the secretary of the organizing committee, he participated in the organization of scientific conferences FILOMAT’94 and FILOMAT 2001.
He was a reviewer for the International Journal for Computer Mathematics.
He was a member of the commission for evaluation and defense of six graduate / master's theses, one master's thesis and three doctoral dissertations.
He is a member of the editorial board of the professionally popular journal Mathematics and Informatics.
He is the author of 20 scientific papers and three presentations presented at scientific conferences of national and international importance. He is also the author of four professional papers, as well as two textbooks and one auxiliary textbook.
He was appointed chair of the Department of Mathematics and Informatics by the decision of the dean on October 1, 2009. years. After the division of this Department into two departments, he was appointed on January 18, 2012. for the chair of the Department of Computer Science and he was in that position until September 30, 2018.
